techcrunchit.com — Facebook is counting on the same relative inertia that Twitter has so carefully cultivated. The calculation is that 175 million people are less likely to move away from something than they are to wait and see what is going to happen.

So how does it work? I ask a question, and everyone's phone goes off so they can answer it immediately? I listen to a bunch of tech podcasts, and all the hosts are in love with Twitter... it's all they talk about. (those are the celebrities I'm taking about). They obviously "use" it the correct way. I just don't know how it works for normal people.I have TinyTwitter on my Blackberry and I have a few real friends following me on Twitter. I guess it would be better if more of my friends were Twitter... but do you check your phone every 2 minutes to see if someone said something?Right now, if someone says something to me on Facebook, my Blackberry notifies me. Is Twitter the same way? I'm only following 26 people on Twitter... but they posted 120 tweets in the the last 24 hours. Are you supposed to check Twitter on your phone to see what was said? Or do you get a text message every time someone tweets?I just need help on figuring out why Twitter is the coolest thing ever...

Even though they aren't direct competitors. Twitter is useful for things that interest you. Facebook is just your friends drunken pictures.I realsed I dont care what my friends are doing, not really interested.

that would go against their uncool company image.to quote my friend 'Facebook is like a doctor's surgery designed by a blind man'

Well, to be frank, that's why I use both. I use Facebook to see groups and photos and such, and I use Twitter to see the status updates without having to wade through a ton of "Jenny just sent Tiffany a mojito! Click here to send one too!!!!".They both have their ups and downs, and Ill never understand some of the rage on this site and elsewhere over the fact that Twitter continues to exist.

FB should innovate in terms of groups, events, and music, and be less ad driven<a class="user" href="http://intelligentshare.com/2009/03/how-to-monetize-facebook-groups-events.html" rel="nofollow">http://intelligentshare.com/2009/03/how-to-monetiz ...</a>
