Me too, but since this is the Internet we're aren't exactly preaching to the choir.

As an Austin native born and raised, I have to say sxsw is the worst week of my life. Everyone from out of town acts so entitled its disgusting. I get it that you payed out the ass for your badge (unlike me who photo copies someone elses) but that doesn't give you the right to stand in the middle of the street on your cell phone blocking up traffic for miles. It also doesn't help that you treat everyone who works during southx like some sort of lower species that can not fully comprehend how amazing and wonderful you are for being involved in media entertainment.

Im form Austin and I can say the % of self important people does go up during SXSW. Part of the cool vibe of living here is that we don't really put up with self pretentious pricks....thats what California is for.

It's true, you know. The vast majority of bloggers are shameless attention whores.

I'll admit I'm a minority here; But I bear agreements as much as disagreements. I agree that a weblog is not the synonymous with journalism. Hardly. It's purpose is variable. Furthermore, writing for the web differs from writing for print. While there may be truth, debating what the very "border" is from writer to non-writer is illogical. And that's leaving out specialized labels such as poet, copywriter, screenwriter, novelist, composer, lyricist, so on, and so on.But I'll put this one question out in the open just to expand the thought."What makes a writer, a writer?"

Nice accurate metaphor. Though I manage to always leave dumps and not take any.

apparently you don't know what talking to other people is.

I dugg you up at first, but then I realized that there are dozens of professional blogs that I do read. If no one reads them, then what the f**k are hundreds of thousands of Gizmodo readers doing?
