Americans have a huge chip on their shoulder. America is always seen by Americans as having a halo over its head, and that it cannot do wrong. It's God's country, and since God does his work through America, you must have something seriously wrong with you to question its actions. Since America, by the mere fact of its existance, is doing the best possible action at all times, you must simple have a problem with America itself. Therefore, "anti-American" is totally appropriate.

Look man, I pay my way through graduate school too. I work two jobs (granted, one is pretty easy) and go to school full time. But I'm the first to admit that I am privileged in this economic system. I have access to credit, so I can actually invest in my longterm earning potential (student loans) and I had the benefit of good schools and intelligent parents growing up. I work hard -- harder than a lot of people -- but I also have real opportunities for success denied to so many people all around the world. I'm not advocating "free rides." I'm advocating better schools, better healthcare and more opportunities for the poor -- not a free check. I also think we need to stop imprisoning 1 percent of our population and fighting wasteful, stupid wars. So hopefully, taxes won't even have to be raised. And if they are, it should be on the upper class, who's standard of living will only be marginally impacted by the higher taxes.

No, I said "Infrastructure and defense". Infrastructure as far as court and judicial systems and the inter-office infrastructure of the federal government. I would personally prefer private companies building our roads and perhaps managing our fire and police and I CERTAINLY don't want one entity to have a virtual monopoly on the education of our children. Although the government would need to maintain the sheriffs department as part of the governments infrastructure as a means to enforce judicial decisions and court appointments.Oh, and thanks for aiding me in defeating your lousy argument that the government can tax and spend on whatever it wants.
