Do you mean the time Fox anounced that GW won Florida while people were still voting in Florida, only for it to turn out that he 'won' Florida by less than 1000 votes, far to close to call?
"the upside is foxnews ratings are going down,"the ratings aren't down for fox, viewship is down across the board for all news networks, but fox still maintains its rank as the #1 cable news network.
@datastorageguy: Exactly what research have you done that led you to conclude that "Most liberals are at home during the day as most are unemployed"? Everything you say reeks of the traditional "I'm educated because I watch a lot of television" attitude that people like Bill O'Reily and Ann Coulter both have. They speak authoritatively, like they know what the hell they're talking about, and so people eat it up without question. To generalize such a huge part of the population so nonchalantly makes me question your intelligence.
Why does Digg allow this story to be buried? Just because the right-wingers don't want their beloved fox news to be lambasted and they want this story buried, doesn't mean it should be. Digg needs to change this feature.
Railer - the question isn't whether Fox knew it was a joke. That much is obvious. The question is about whether they did it to make him look bad.Personally, I make no claim that it because he's a liberal. I don't care who he is: the video was presented out of context in a way that made him look like a cocaine-snorting, pimp-slapping fool. It's common in situations like this to put obvious edits between clips to remind viewers that they're not seeing the whole event. In writing, it would be absolutely necessary to do so. This was obviously edited to make it appear to be one, continuous conversation. In fact, having not seen that episode myself, I didn't realize that it wasn't; I knew it had to be a joke, but I didn't see any punchlines. And the anchor's, "Boy, I can't believe he would say that" comments didn't infer that it was a joke, but rather professional suicide. In other words, whether or not it was a stab at the heart of liberalism by Fox News, I don't know or care. Yeah, the guy narrating was a little over-the-top. But it's a wholly unprofessional way to present such material.
Come on guys, they showed the clip as a joke as they often do near the end of Fox News "Weekend Live". Anyone who has ever watched the show know they do that... Talk about being taken out of context.Oh, and the narrator should learn how to not talk like he's on depressants / a robot... That was a very annoying commentary. Apparently he watched the entire show for no other reason than to try to find a something to badmouth on YouTube, some people need to get a life; (and he didn't even catch it that it was a joke because of his blind hatred for Fox News?!)Wow, just wow.

WTF? ALL of the news stations called Gore the winner first, then CNN pulled it back, followed by all of the other stations. And it was the "Voter News Service" that did it:From PBS: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/media/election2000/election_night.htmlGORE TAKES FLORIDAFlorida became the big story at 8 p.m. as the Voter News Service -- a group pooling the resources of ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox and the AP -- called the state for Gore. All of the networks and the AP followed suit.

It's sad when you can take the Colbert Report *more* seriously than Fox News.
