I'm liberal. I hate the war. Don't exaggerate. Three to four thousand. Still a tragedy, but "THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS" makes it sound like Americans are getting slaughtered. If you want to talk about thousands upon thousands, you should talk about Iraqis.
This goes to show you that network talent is clueless.Per DoD policy, any media coverage of any funeral, even ones in Arlington or other national cemeteries is up to the family. This is something that the Casualty Assistance Officer and funeral director discuss with the family while planning the funeral. The line reporters who cover military stuff know this. There have been many open-media OIF/OEF funerals, but they don't make national news.
Shepard Smith is not your typical fox news anchor. If you guys would actually turned to fox news once in a while instead of looking at youtube clips, you might actually see the difference.
Hush now baby don't you cry Mama's gonna make all of your Nightmares come true Mama's gonna put all of her fears into you Mama's gonna keep you right here Under her wing she won't let you fly but she might let you sing Mama will keep baby cosy and warm Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall
wow, the sheer ignorance and stupidity in some of these responses is both offensive and staggering. LCDR Davis certainly did perform a heroic act, as he could have EASILY ejected from his jet as it went down. instead, he decided to control it as much as he could so that it wouldn't crash into a NEIGHBORHOOD and kill COUNTLESS people on the ground. as it was, there were 8 injured, with what amounted to a bump on the head, more or less, and one, LCDR Davis, who died. The ejection seat in a military jet is certified to work at ground level, which means even if there's a problem while sitting on the ground, you can pull the handle and land safely on the ground. what he did to save the lives of people on the ground was nothing short of heroic. Blue Angel pilots are all fleet trained, combat veteran jet pilots from the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Many are former test pilots, and they don't make mistakes in the c**kpit. Trust me, it doesn't happen. The pilot had 2500+ hours in the F/A-18, do you really think that he's going to clip a tree without something else happening first? Consensus around here(I'm a student pilot for the Navy) is that he sucked a bird into an engine and lost thrust when he was pulling out of a dive. Lose an engine in a 6G pullout 100ft off the ground, and you're done. These guys are the Jedi of our world, the absolute best of the best. Instead of talking about how he wasn't a hero, or how Fox news is usually full of crap, why not try saying something nice for once, about someone who gave up their life in service to your country, to defend your life and the way you live it, whether they believe what you do on your own time is right or not. Just because he didn't die in combat doesn't mean he's not a hero. When's the last time you were willing to give you life up for something bigger than yourself?
Shepard Smith is one of the moderate Fox News Anchors. I noticed this during the Katrina coverage. He was the only one standing with his jaw open questioning where the help was. I noticed shortly after that they moved him to the daytime schedule and no longer does the "G-Block" at night.

If Bush wont allow the media to show the dead son's and daughters body's returning home then maybe we wont believe it is happening. Right?
