No one knows what cloned meat could or would do to my or my children's genetic structure. Probably nothing. But what are we gaining by using cloned animals? Cheaper food? A few cents a meal? I hope to hell they're right and it's all worth it. It's not like I have much of a choice.
Ummm... You "organic" people do realize that all Bananas and Apples are, in fact, clones, right? They are genetically identical to all the other ones of that same type of fruit. You've been eating cloned food all your life. Get used to it.
The point is, people have the right to know, even if the reason they want to know doesn't make sense. It makes no difference for the people that don't care if it is from clones or not, so why does it bother you that people would like to have labels that that indicates it comes from clones. The reason I'd like to know is just to be safe, it's something new. If it turns out it's fine in a few years, I won't mind it anymore. But seriously what's the problem of having a label saying from clones. Nothing at all. But they probably know that if they label the meat is from clones, it will make the product sound bad. And they're probably right. So adding this label means less money for them. It seems there is lots of money to be made in a new business of cloning. And it doesn't feel right that they have such a problem of labeling cloned meat. You do have a good point rgov, if there dna is messed up they die, but they could also live, and they could also pass inspections. There's no way of knowing until it happens. And if something bad does come up, we will be safe having a label saying what meat is what. Better safe than sorry.
>>>"Let me ask this, why does it bother these people that someone doesn't want to be part of this experiment?"Because people showing their complete ignorance and total stupidity is always a bit disturbing. Some of us would like to think that the human race is improving, and then these people come along and shatter that illusion. Annoying.
>>>"How many times have you seen a drug or a food "okayed" by the FDA - then years or months later further research shows that it is bad for you, kills you, or causes some horrible thing to happen to you?"Zero. Because that's never actually happened.

Not DHMO again, groan. And why is it di-hydrogen? shouldn't it be bi-hydrogen like in Sodium bi-carbonate?
