homelandstupidity.us — Christopher Soghoian created the Northwest Airlines Boarding Pass Generator to demonstrate flaws in the government’s implementation of airport security and the so-called no-fly list. Then the FBI agents kept a federal judge awake until two in the morning to get a search warrant and raided his house in a predawn raid Saturday morning.

@sithmatThis has nothing to do with terrorism. You don't call your congressman when you find out someone's found a way to steal soft drinks from a vending machine. This act allows for theft of service, plain and simple. As such, it was right be shut down. Maybe the raid had something to do with finding out who may have stolen service using the site, whatever. To think it's got anything to do with terrorism or public security is absurd, though. How am I at risk from someone who uses a counterfeit boarding pass any more than I would be at risk from someone who bought one?

"The best and fastest way to get something fixed is to bring it out to public attention."Should he also post up information on how to build pipe bombs to blow up buildings? Or how to grow marijuana? Or how to rape someone without getting caught? Would he be doing a public service then?Heck, let's just serve the guy with a medal of honour for aiding criminals!I stand by what I said before: There are smarter ways of exposing security flaws. Contacting a senator, showing patches of information to a local news team, writing a letter to the airliner itself... What this guy did was a shameless attention grab.

Yeah but the fact that the judge just gave it out shows the checks and balances are slowly washing away. The judge should have told the FBI to go f**k themselves because there's no reason to raid this guys house. They're a bunch of idiotic assh**es. f**k this country.

Hey brainiac. I don't need a live demonstration of rapes and murders to know that they shouldn't be allowed. Your logic is not sound. Why not do the responsible thing and inform the appropriate authorities of the security gap, rather than publicly enable others to exploit it?
