alternet.org— Once again we see a manufactured threat "taken down" to great media fanfare. Once again, behind the headlines and flashbulbs, a bogus, ginned up "entrapment of dumbest" case emerges.

I hate to look like a shill (again, apparently), but I'd like to correct you there. The FBI did not try to give them the means. The FBI took deliberate care to make sure that no harm could come of their dealings. The FBI was only trying to build a legal case against these men. It's up to your opinion whether that means the FBI wants there to be terrorists or not. I'm inclined to believe that the FBI itself does not want there to be terrorists. I don't think any of this fear-mongering is deliberate (i.e. I don't believe that there is any specific shadowy figure or group that is controlling things behind the scenes). But it is clear that the fear-mongering is unnecessary and stupid. I think it's birthed out of ignorance, rather than malice.
Perhaps you don't know the difference between a real plot and deliberate entrapment or the fact that fed prosecutors will hype their very shaky cases. The fact that they had to try Sears Tower plotters three thimes before a jury would find them guilty says a lot about the jury members opposition to entrapment. I have worked with the FBI and too many of them are like Texans and think they are God's chosen ones.

It's not a narrative. It's a script.

The History Channel is second only to FOX as the largest purveyor of government propaganda on television.
