isorecorder.alexfeinman.com — ISO Recorder is a tool (power toy) for Windows XP, 2003 and now Windows Vista, that allows (depending on the Windows version) to burn CD and DVD images, copy disks, make images of the existing data CDs and DVDs and create ISO images from a content of a disk folder.

This is a really s**tty program! When you go to uninstall it, make sure you uninstall any optical drives on your pc and then reboot (so that they reinstall automatically) because you won't be able to use them otherwise.

yuck... this is NOT a power toy! What do I pick for blatant lies... "this is lame"?

So we can burn our linux cds and switch!

This is nice, but it is missing gobs of features. 1 - It only burns CDs, not DVDs. 2 - It only handles ISO files, what about BINs, Nero or Alcohol Images? For it to be useful to me it would have to do the above plus - be a general purpose ISO reader/creator. Meaning it could make an iso from a CD/DVD, create a custom ISO from scratch (see barts PE), mount images; plus you could open existing ISOs and add/remove/change them in whatever way you see fit. That functionality seems outside the scope of this program, which is fine; it just makes the software less useful than many other free options. Seeing as an ISO image (or bin/cue) is just a concatenation of everything on a CD (including TOC, filesystem etc) I don't see why this is so hard. Just another reason I am glad I have Linux around.

No digg. This tool is on the MSDN download site for subscribers. They tell you to use ISORecorder or Daemon Tools.

WOW! This is probably the most powerful tool I've ever used to burn isos. One of its advantages is a cool and user-friendly interface. DUGG!signature: http://www.world-tools.com/

Silly question, but why does this program support Windows 7, when Windows 7 FINALLY has ISO recording built in.
