Chase Hutto, a senior Cheney advisor, is the leading candidate to be appointed assistant secretary for policy and international affairs at the Energy Department, the Washington Post reports. Former EPA official Jason Burnett said Hutto is ?naturally and philosophically opposed to regulation.?

Here's a radical idea. How about we regulate them and tell them they can no longer dump toxins in our air and rivers? How about we reverse Bush policy and make them, rather than the taxpayers, pay for the cleanup?

Wow...how obtuse are you anyway? You're like the guy smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day, begging for the cancer...if its all the same to you, I'd prefer to not have the government irresponsibly "regulate" my health...wow, I almost sounded like a conservative for a second.

Wouldn't it be more correct to label him "anti-regulation" then? Are they saying a prerequisite for being pro-environment is that you must support the government's fiat powers to limit the actions of private entities?

"You call for the extermination of regions of the country, but you have no problem using the electricity generated by the coal that comes from those regions, or the food grown in those regions, despite their HIGH environmental cost."What makes you say that? I have no interest in coal power. I'm conservative about my electricity use and am willing to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to transition to clean, renewable fuels. As far as food is concerned, I try not to eat the garbage they grow in those mega-industrial farms down south. My rice comes from Thailand and California. I don't eat that s**t they grow in Louisiana. I can't say I've ever seen a store around here offering produce grown in West Virginia.Southern states are next consumers of federal tax dollars. Take a look at this chart: http://www.nemw.org/taxburd.htm Of the southern states, only Texas and Florida are net contributors. That's right: us northerners have to foot the bill for the federal governmnet's welfare spending on lazy southerners. If anything, the elimination of those people will make my life better, as it will free up those tax dollars so that they may be put to more productive use.
