kotaku.com— The remote will sell for $39.99, the nunchuck for $19.99. Making this a total of $60. Is this justifiable? How many controllers do you buy to buy?

I think what they did is include one of everything to make sure there was developer support. An extra controller is something people will purchase, but a new type of controller or extension is not.Plus, all this is bound to come down in price in a few months. And if both people have a Wii, then they can just bring theirs, along with their stored info.
"After they led us on for so long letting everybody get thier hopes up for a $200 launch."Dude, Nintendo didn't lead you along at all. They said it would be NO MORE than $250. It's a typical case of the internet community running away with rumours, then getting disappointed when the actual stuff is announced - happens with Apple too. Cut Nintendo some slack, they have not been deceptive or intentionally caused anyone to think anything.I can understand why the Nunchuck and Wiimote are seperate. If you saw any of the conference, you'll remember Reggie saying they will continue supporting the hardcore gamer, with games like Zelda etc., and support the brand new gamer with games like Wii sports. Those new gamers probably won't need a nunchuck to begin with, because you don't need it for the simple games. That makes sense, because it allows them to go and buy that part as and when they need it. (Americruzan0, that answers your question: you don't need the nunchuck if you're only playing the simple games)The price of the pair is kinda more than I was expecting, but as others have said, compared to an X360 and probably PS3 controller, it's not vastly different.
You guys are hilarious. If the PS3 controller was $60 bucks, everyone would be on their roofs shouting bloody murder. To defend myself, I will not be buying the PS3, I think it stinks and is too expensive. I'm a huge Nintendo fan and because of that I'm disappointed. $60 bucks for a controller set is a lot.
Well guys the Wii Remote and Nunchuck for $60 US is a pretty good deal. The remote has a Memory card, which for Gamecube would cost about $30, a motion sensor, speakers, and a wireless controller which for gamecube at first cost $45, and even more! All that would total around $80.

This makes me think how much all the extra contoller add-ons will cost. Such as the gun (zapper). If developers are inovative, it can cost quite a lot.

The zapper actually has an analog control stick, not just molded plastic. The molded plastic steering wheel is what comes free with GT Pro

Don't like it, don't buy it. Nobody is forcing you to spend $180 on new controllers at launch..

Just buy rechargeable batteries. That will be cheaper than the charge and play.
