mc4_a, that's fine, don't use our service, and find someone else willing to serve up free thumbnails. If you don't trust me, you shouldn't be installing my XPI on your computer in the first place. If every digger downloads our free extension and is leeching thumbnails off our server all day we gain nothing from it. It is just a waste of bandwidth for us and costs us money. How long do you think a service like that can last with no means of income? We are just programmers, we are not rich, and i dobut this will make us rich. We hope the google ads will cover our monthly server costs.By requiring a registration we have control over who can use it, and can ban users that are abusing the system. If it upsets you and you don't use it, then it just saves us bandwidth.
Man...what a happy, fun-loving thread this has turned out to be. I think Im going to just wait for this to be added to the website by the Diggvelopers...
TechHerder,Your attitude is just ugly. We understand you're trying to cover expenses, and it's true nobody is forced to use your service, but you also weren't forced to build it in the first place, and I assume you built it to be used. If people are telling you that a certain aspect of your service makes it useless for them, just try to fix it as much as you can, instead of telling everybody off. It's called "feedback", not a "complaint".Honestly, what reason does anybody have to trust you with their e-mail?
Yeah, it doesn't. It's very unfortunate, because I was looking forward to using the extension. I hope that digg can implement the feature on their own.

This extension works for me, I didn't have to singup for anything or enter a token...

I've got a sneaking suspicion this installs flash ads.
techherderSep 13, 2006Submitter
This does not install any flash ads. The DiggThumbs extension is ad free, only a small link to http://www.webshotspro.com will appear at the bottom of digg.com when using it.

Crap, now its stopped working. I guess either digg shut them down or they were running out of bandwidth.
