I'm pretty sure the ants didn't appreciate their nest being filled with concrete but the extent of that nest is amazing. It really is an ant metropolis.

Probably way late for this reply but get you some peony's (I have no friggin idea how to spell the plural of peony - plant them near where you have the ant problem so as to draw the ants away. Watch what they do to the peony's when they bud out. They tend them. It is cool as heck. This should bring ya some black ants on the scene. Also, put out bird feeders, wren houses or martin houses.
