dvorak.org— "Iraq veteran and honorably discharged Marine Sgt. Adam Kokesh has been the Pentagon?s biggest public relations nightmare this year, because he?s some kind of magical"

I was all for this guy until I read in his blog he was trying to convince other Marines to desert."I would not ask anyone to desert lightly, and I do not do so here today."That is not good. That to me is close to treason.
From the AP article: " When he was identified in a photo caption in The Washington Post, a superior officer sent him an e-mail saying he might have violated a rule prohibiting troops from wearing uniforms without authorization. Kokesh responded with a letter that contained an obscenity."Ten bucks says it was something along the lines of "Go f**k yourself."
@hechtalDo you think it's then within the rules to say that to a major? How about a captain....or any officer. For that matter, he'd better not say that to a gunny or a sergeant either. Any respectable gunny would knock him in the head so hard his shoelaces would become his bowtie. The boy received a civil letter and responded with an uncivil one and he's being punished for breaking the rules the rest of us followed. It's maddening that you would try to justify the actions of someone who went out of his way to break the rules he obligated himself to follow.
You know what, I agree with him. I used to be a soldier, and I have no problem with saying "f**k you" to an officer. Here's why: 99% of officers are tools. The generals and command staff are nothing but a bunch of yes men, who don't really care about the troops. They care about their own reputations and getting to that next rank (*or maybe that juicy contracting or corporate position when they retire). Why do you think things have gotten progressivly worse in Iraq? Men in the field relay information to the higher ranks, that is subsequently ignored. They either go by the "no news is good news" policy, or candy-coat the reports. Since the war started, only a few cases have come up involving conspiracies going up to the rank of General. The first would be Tillman's death in Afghanistan, the second would be the murder of the Iraqi civilians in Ramadi. Two cases in a war this big. Let me tell you, there's alot more stories out there like those that these "honorable, respectful, duty-driven patriotic" officers have squashed. The whole "honor" and "respect" "oaths" and such, it's all bulls**t. There is no honor left in the military, when telling the truth brings nothing but more trouble. It's apples and oranges but when I came home from my second tour, while in-processing, we were basically told that if we made any claims of injury or illness, that the doctors and medical staff would make our lives a living hell. f**k the military, and all of their bulls**t. That Major didn't like hearing it how it is, and as far as I'm concerned has done nothing to earn any respect. Unless you consider riding a chair a symbol of respect.
Get off yourself, sir. If Kokesh had run around at PRO war rallies in uniform, nobody would have said a god damn thing except "What an outstanding marine!" And if anybody had tried to bring him under UCMJ would've been told to STFU by his own chain of command.Give me a break.
No, but Bush, Rove and Cheney did, didn't they? They ducked out of the whole thing. So did Limbaugh, Savage, Coulter, Malkin and all those loudmouth cretins you love to worship.Idiot
@bardamuclichyYou don't know that my friend...Remember, General Boykin was told to "STFU" when he was appearing in uniform at fundamentalist Christian meetings and denouncing Bin Laden and Islam.
