Article 3, Section 3. "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court."Unfortunately, it's not treason. Though we could still get the Congress to pass a law to hang that Dick.

Besides the case of conspiracy to defraud there if also the very real case of neglegent homicide/genocide. They cannot agrue that they lied to start the war. These lies would knowingly lead to the deaths of many American Soldiers and Iraqi Nationals. Where is Jack McCoy when you need him?

I'm embarrassed to say, no more than the first time. They might have to stick their neck out for the sake of principle. It occurred to me last night that, even though Sen Gravel and Rep Ron Paul are a bit refreshing, getting to hear some plain truth, they don't stand much chance of success. I think it's because they don't come off as Gentlemen. And isn't that the reason we have the problems we do? We'd sooner elect someone that looks good, like another Reagan, than someone that will be honest with us. And because Congress has shirked their role of being an equal branch of the government (and a body that represents the people), we end up electing a president like choosing a monarch - the first step to a dictatorship. When Ron Paul says he'll get rid of the IRS and shrink the CIA to respectable activities, do you really think he'd have that power as president? No. But presidents do have the power to do things that are in the Corporate interest, like looking for enemies to bomb, sending your children to a pointless war and letting debt and inflation smother us.If Bush and Cheney are not impeached before they leave office, we will experience WORSE administrations. What is the tipping point, at which the populace revolts? That's why I'm leaning to someone like Ron Paul. He'd either be a strong president and reduce the IRS and CIA, or he'd be a weak president, resulting in a power shift back to Congress. Either result is good!-- Lose your faith in government! They don't answer to you. They need to be kept in check.
