The sad thing about this list is that people may not even know about the 2001 iPod. :) It is only 9 years old. I still have my 2003 40GB 3rd Gen iPod. It still works fine. I still have my Nomad Jukebox 3 as well from Creative. I like my iPod.
*hugs doshindude*Don't worry, one day your Zune will have a 9 year retrospective article : "Evolution of the Zune, from Toshiba Gigabeat in Zune clothing to iPod Touch-a-like".
Yes they were sold in Canada, but the original 5GB iPod was $599 (CDN) ! (while it was $399 in the US). Sure the exchange rate was different then, but it was over the psychological threshold of $500 so it was probably not selling that well.
FTA regarding the iPod touch 1st gen: "The Touch supported most of the programs available on Apple's new App Store" Correct me if I'm wrong, but the App Store didn't exist until way after the first iPod touch came out. I believe jailbreaking actually came out first, then Apple saw they could make money out of this, and thus the App Store was born.

Funny that yours survived that long, considering most ipod products are horribly made.

I wonder if the iPad will have this kind of timeline as well in 2019... iPad nano! iPad mini! iPad shuffle!
