Some companies, like Audi have evolved their in their branding. You can tell much about their growth in the industry through their logo. Other companies, such as BMV, has continued to produce top of the line automobiles and have done very minor adjustment to their logo.
I think most of the older logos look nicer than the new one - especially with cars such as BMW and Mercedes. It was a really interesting article though.

Very cool. Though Mercedes still uses the blue logo as well as the simple ringed tri-star.
