arstechnica.com — Across the nation, academic freedom laws are trying to protect educators that "teach the controversy" about evolution. But two days of seminars on evolution reveal that the real controversies are extremely technical, and the true goal of the legislation is to teach "controversies" that have no basis in reality.

Yours must be the most ignorant post I have ever read on digg. What you don't realize is that by your definition Mr. Dawkins is a cop-out since he has conjectured that very thing. To claim religion has no place in the "rational world" is preposterous. Science, for all its virtues, struggles just to answer the "how" and offers mankind nothing of substance on the question of "why". It would serve you better to stop coddling ignorance rather than religion.

"Jupiter is constantly gaining mass"Which is impossible without some source of mass. The only such source would be the solar wind, but since it is so thin, the mass gain would be smaller than microscopic.

Hardly, as it wouldn't resolve the "man came from apes" issue that creationists have with evolution. Personally, I really don't see why those people are so disgusted at the thought of having a common ancestor with apes.

You know, Clive Thompson has a point:http://www.wired.com/techbiz/people/magazine/15-11 ...Until "Law of Evolution" becomes more commonplace than simply "Theory of Evolution" the general layperson won't come to terms with the facts like "Law of Gravity" suggests. Though theory is a correct term (A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena), Law of Evolution has more authority as the facts that support it are insurmountable.
