I agree that FILExt is much, much better. Plus, it have a very good and active forum where to ask for info.

I think, the best site like those is <a class="user" href="http://www.file-extensions.org">http://www.file-extensions.org</a> - there is more info about file formats and file extensions

I prefer <a class="user" href="http://www.dotwhat.net/">http://www.dotwhat.net/</a> and end up using it all the time, and imo it's the best out there these days.
