I was always more of a fan of the "Props" and "Front" keys on the Sun keyboard. I have no idea what they did on an install of solaris, but I wanted to remap them to macros that added flattering text or bragging text to whatever I was typing. That way, I could give mad props or front at the press of a button.

No, on Sun keyboards there really is a regular-sized, unmarked key. I also have no idea what it does, and am afraid to press it.

But if they are serving no purpose now then why the hell they are still there??????????????

I use them! they surve purpose to me!Some people find punctuation and shift keys useless, but that doesn't mean that they should be removed.

yes, i've had occasion to use that. Timing it right is a pain, but mostly it works.

You mean the Super key? Only thing I use that for is to enable the snowflake plugin in Beryl.
