Futuristic looking is not a quality in my book, I prefer something that try to blend in my office...Anybody can be short on design idea and do "futuristic looking things (tm)".I would have prefered a Victorian looking one...
The LX supports monitors up to 20 lbs which is strong enough for most any flat panel monitor. For comparison, only Dell's biggest flat panel monitor, the 30" 3007WFP, at 21 lbs, is over the weight limit of the LX and only by one pound. Dell's 24" and smaller flat panel monitors are all well under the weight limit of the LX.As for having no way to adjust the vertical height, I don't know what you're talking about. The whole point of the LX arm is the ease of which you can adjust the monitor. Our patented Constant Force (CF) technology makes the vertical height adjustment effortless. Since Innovative doesn't specify the technology they use, I'm going to have to guess that they use a conventional gas spring design since they aren't licensing our CF technology.I also don't see anything on Innovative's site about their warranty. The LX comes with a five year warranty. We stand behind our products.
Most of the comments sound like other retailers trying to make some points for their own product. I hope that DIGG does not become a site for that type of activity.
I just ordered my LX this morning. I can't wait. Sucks that there isn't very much on the net besides one Tigerdirect video and a blog post. At the place I work at, we had need for mounts like this for our genetics department. I got to see one in action and was impressed. Ergotron has the patent on their CF design which pretty much means that they kick butt over other designs. P.S. I know this story is over a year old, but I'm commenting anyway godammit. :)
Thanks for the good review and photos.I found out about this arm by looking at the accessories available for Dell's 20.1" widescreen lcd. It looks like this will be something I purchase shortly after buying the panel.

My reply got sent to the bottom. So here it is again, sorry for the double post.Yes, we do make a version of the LX arm for notebooks. You can also mount a notebook arm and a monitor arm onto the same pole and do dual monitor.http://www.ergotron.com/3_products/keyboard/LX_notebook/default.asp
