lifehacker.com — Just what the title says. If you have permanent marker on your board, remove it with three easy steps. I did it and it definitely works. I removed markings that were four years old without much hassle. http://www.lifehacker.com/software/top/erase-permanent-marker-from-your-dry-erase-board-176015.php

I used to just use another sharpie and do the same thing until one day it didn't work and I had permanent marker all over the glass. I then tried rubbing alcohol because I knew that was what was the base of the ink. To my surprise it worked amazingly

It looks like one company is turning this into a business model (Mead).http://www.meadzwipes.com/

I've found that Chlorox Wipes work well too, even if the marks have been there for a while.Thats what they get for putting white boards in a college dorm. Lots of permanant marker on the boards. They would have charged us for them if we didn't get it clean, and we drank all the alcohol.
