The Pre doesn't even support a fraction of the features that developers get in iPhone OS 2.0; never mind 3.0. The Palm Pre's API is a joke, it only allows you to write apps using javascript, html, css etc.The iPhone OS 3.0 API is light years ahead of that; with developers having access to Push, embedded Google Maps, finding other devices, and hardware integration available, and more.To me it seems like the Palm Pre's OS is still trying to play catch up with iPhone OS 2.0.
I've probably used video chat 5 times in the three years that I've had it. I couldn't care less about video chat. If they add it (as a hardware upgrade obviously) to the next gen iPhone, great. But I really couldn't care less.
@DubbsaccFirst off, how do you know that's not a feature of the application? I don't see anything that says that's not a feature. More importantly, it's software and sending results to your doctor wouldn't be a big deal at all.
That's the problem. The bottom line is that some of the things people want simply can't be run on the existing technology we have. Right now, battery technology has not kept up with software/hardware achievements over the last decade.
Apple has a monster huge opportunity to take a large lead in the smart phone business not just for consumers but business. I'd be amazed if they blow it.

Except hardware should have nothing to do with it. Jailbroken first generation iPhones can do MMS
