web.mac.com — 1) Create a new folder named Demo Mode on the iPod. 2) In iTunes, rename any video file as Demo. When your iPod is charging and left untouched for two minutes the movie you renamed "demo" will play and repeate. Just like a screen saver.

No. It also works on Windows, Linux, and the iPod Shuffle. It also works on the NASA OS, and it even works on Magic!

If anyone is looking for a cool looking video to try this with, I found a nice animation here:http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid=6976411988680250702Just download the video in iPod format so you don't have to worry about converting. I can verify that it works cos im now staring at a pretty awesome screensaver. The only downside I can see, is that after the animation is complete, the screen goes black for a few seconds before it starts again. Might be cool to loop this video manually to the max size that the iPod will cache so that it doesn't stop so often.

I got it to work. HOWEVER, you can no longer have a customized main menu. For example, I like to have podcasts on the main menu. Once the video "screen saver" starts it resets the main menu back to the default settings, bye bye podcasts in one click. So this is was a digg and now a no digg for that fact alone!!

pheonix - you said MB. Mega Bytes. If you said Mb you would have been correct.

The Ipod Nano doesn't use a hard drive. It's flash memory.
