Apple needs to reassure their loyal customers that this problem will be taken care of. I can also hear the noise but overall I'm happy with the purchase and I'll keep mine and wait till its fixed. To anyone who has this issue, install Mirror widget, open it, after you see the video CLOSE IT and it will fix the noise issue but it might increase the power consumption a little (I'm not sure though).
Tis the beauty of unchecked modding.People mod up who they like and down who they don't. I wouldn't be suprised if people started cranking out new accounts to engage in mod wars.
Big surprise...ahhem.How could you not see this coming?I've been battling apple for two years over my ibook, there are many problems that they've ignored.I'm on my 5th logic board, heat issues, keyboard smells, etc...Good luck trying to get this issue resolved...I hope it works out but be prepared for an uphill battle.Wait a while and (I agree) ALWAYS buy Applecare!
Even an expensive BMW typically has flaws as most BMWs will cautiously admit (or openly whine about). No one here can afford perfection. And few of us can even afford near perfection.
My iBook from 1998 still works fine. Albeit the battery life is nill, it stillworks. Heck it's running panther. Got me through art school's college, and now it's my portfolio. Also had a G3 where the hard drive went. They had me drive somewhere, and have it replaced 123. Not sure why they gave you the runaround. And explain "keyboard smells"

I dunno, I always thought the name "Mactop Pro" would be kinda cooler than MacBook. MacBook just feels kind of empty...

Why anyone buys first round tech is a mystery to me. Best to get the kinks out for a year and wait for the updated version :)
