digitaltrends.com — Power remains one of our biggest problems to solve. As we look at devices like the iPad, iPhone and the new particularly thirsty Sprint EVO 4G, the need for a better charging solution has never been more pronounced. This is really the elephant in the room that we don?t really seem to be talking about as much as we should.

The Japanese already have the right idea. Solar power beamed down from space. With enough solar panels floating in the limitless space of space, we could beam down enough energy to power the world ten times over. With such a surplus of energy, they could broadcast it to the world and not bother trying to figure out how to meter and charge for it. That, right there, is why we don't have broadcast power now. Nobody profits until they can figure out a way to make people pay.

No offense but I saw these devices. They are just plastic waste. No one will use this in their car or will you find these in aircraft. These are being introduced right when the standardization of AC power plugs are being introduced. These devices are gimmickry and nothing more.

I'm going to post this as a direct reply to the overall comment as well, but no, in fact he did this and it's well documented and it was called the Magnifying Transmitter. :) All hail the Tesla.
