morality101.net — Last night, as soon as the polls closed in California, Obama was declared the Almighty. Millions of cheering idiots gathered throughout our land and celebrated the end of America. I am happy that those millions will suffer along with all who know better. However, if you are already amongst the morality, we MUST begin ACTION!

Oh, no... it's the "dumb extremist" argument again! Run for the hills!I don't agree with the author on many of the points he makes but, if you ask me, that comparison really points out who might also be a jackass. The good vocabulary complement was a nice edition though.

I can't speak for the author, but as for myself, I prefer the word "resentful"I resent people who try to control my life thinking that they can make **MY** decisions better than I can.

ABEL, the government does not exist to try and protect you from yourself. The end. Enjoy the erosion of your civil and personal liberties.

No problem :) It seems we see the article in the same light. No hard feelings =D I think it turns out that we actually agree :)

Altruism is an inherited trait/tendency that is beneficial to many species, just as many other instincts are. Did you mean to say "abortion"? At least that would be arguable :PThat said, generally speaking, democrats seem to be a lot closer to reality than republicans in my opinion. However, both parties' representatives are f**king pathetic. Democrats are often too busy or apathetic/disenchanted to bother researching candidates and republicans are waaaaay too often willing to blindly vote for whoever their church or friends say to based on a single position/policy. Both usually just vote for whoever is on the ballot or they heard of

@smotpokerYou're missing the difference between the scientific concept of altruism that attempts to describe the instinctual behavior of some animals with the philosophical concept of altruist morality that is chosen humans. One is an instinctual tendency to act counter to the immediate self-interest of an animal in specific a context that exists in an amoral environment... the other is the chosen moral belief that it is your duty that others must come first, even at the cost of the long-range interests of the individual. This would be like asserting that the mating habits of some animals is the equivalent to the human concept or rape.

Cognitive dissonance blocks most of the people from accepting the truth. The beliefs they hold as true will block a real truth sometimes with a violent reaction, even with indisputable facts placed before them. To overcome this is a complete mystery to me, I have tried many methods to awaken people to even the simplest concepts of government and it is usually a futile effort. The power of the authorized is almost impossible to overcome. As the masses sit in front of the idiot box they are placed into a semi trace state opening the brain for conscious and subconscious information to flow in. The great OZ tells them the important information they will have to parrot back at a later date and this becomes factual to them. The illusion of power and grandeur over them creates this authorized voice, the voice of truth no matter how hard and how clearly you can convince them otherwise. Those who research are not prophets, they can not tell the future all though some times it appears they can. They read documents and know what will happen because it is already written in law or recommendations of law by outside elite organizations. Yet to the general population where it is cool to be stupid, this way of acting is unacceptable. It goes against the authorized voice and therefore is the voice of madness. Just another crazy man yelling the sky is falling, yet if you look at the documentation indeed the sky maybe falling.

Kukona, your premise is well taken. I think the author takes the position that they would rather be in the swamp up to their hip rather than up to their neck. Your position is that if everyone is in up to their neck, they will wake up and start to get out.I would liken that to the Star Trek slingshot past the sun gambit. If you remember the old Star Trek stories where they had to fly close to the sun to get a slingshot effect to highly accelerate them -- if they didn't burn up. Since there is no script, I'm not sure we won't burn upIf you get the perfect storm effect, then Obama, the Democrat Congress (hundreds of wacked-out judicial appointments), and the economy will conspire to destroy enough people's hope for a better life through their own efforts. Many small businesses will fold or become only subsistence level endeavors. Many jobs will be lost. They will have no choice but to turn to the government to bail them out with guaranteed employment, etc.Bread and Circuses. Not exactly, try Bread, MySpace, Cells, and HDTVs.I dugg you up because you are trying to have a dialog and make some good points, whether I agree or not.

I dugg you up. But your use of cognitive dissonance is incorrect.
