I don't think the fact that he is a christian has anything to do with it.The fact that he is an elected public official of the Kern High School District who is removing signs of the opposition (starting a conflict) and then assaults someone during the encounter is not very intelligent behavior for an elected official. I can't tell you how many times I could have done the same thing to someone because I felt threatened but chose not to due to circumstance. There are times when I did choose violence because I was angry. His actions seem out of anger not self defense. He knew he was escalating a turbulent situation and let his anger show."I think this sets a great example for the students of the Kern High School District" Yeah, when someone gets in your face, or does something you don't like, hit them. Perfect! I think his retreat was not because he realized it wasn't worth it, more that he realized he screwed up, just assaulted someone and could easily make the situation go somewhere he didn't expect. So he "retreated".Sorry to say but you and I may have responded in the exact same way but where I think he was wrong is that if you hold a public role you should not get yourself into those situations or react in that way.
