why use a bookmarklet, when you can use Greasemonkey (<a class="user" href="http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/)?">http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/)?</a>

bookmarklets are great idea (just learned what they are), but I only see about two on this page that are *actually* at all useful (I liked the wikipedia lookup idea)

Everyone is gonna have a different definition of "must-have bookmarklets". The one bookmarklet I put on every computer I use for more than about 10 minutes is "show all linked images", from pornzilla and Jesse's bookmarklets and any number of other sites out there. It's not actually all that useful for pr0n (pr0n sites were the first to cloak images in javascript and Flickr-style gallery pages), but it's good for most collections of screenshots.

flattop - you have a friend who dug this story, that's what the green banner means.I think the GmailThis! bookmarklet, which I've only had for a few days, is the one I've gotten the most use out of.

Because bookmarklets are cross platform meaning they often work on most browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari). Check out www.bmlet.com for a huge list of bookmarklets.
