1up.com — The Managing Editor of the "Official" PlayStation Magazine, Dana Jongewaard writes in her blog that she is getting an Xbox 360 this November instead of a PS3. It's more than a little ironic that an editor of the Official PlayStation Magazine has chosen the console of Sony's chief competitor over the PlayStation 3. A very interesting read.

Thank you! This is what people should actually be doing! What a lot of people don't realize is that Ziff Davis gets 3-5 free PS3's for their office, so actually buying a PS3 when you can hang around at the office any play everything for free is the main reason. I just think she's making a big deal out of this. As some can see, it has been blown out of proportion and anybody who hates the PS3 has basically dugg the story.

@rsims17I never claimed they were a strong representation of the people who own HDTVs.In fact, that's why I'm asking how those 30% who do own HDTVs feel about HD content. I want to know if they plan on purchasing HD content, or if they already do, or if they just bought an HDTV because it's what was at the store and they didn't bother researching their purchase. As for the rest of your comment, I've no clue what the hell you're trying to say. Sorry.

WAIT! Don't you need an HDTV to get your full quality from a 360?Or is there some rule now that you need to buy a hdtv for the ps3 and not one for the 360 ?

John Carmack? I heard his rant..... and it was stupid. OMG the PS3 is way to hard to......... then people who worked on the PS2 before came out and said that deving for the PS3 is easier than deving for the PS2. Considering the amount of amazing games I have played on the PS2..... and thinking back to doom 3...... I am not worried about what he is saying.

I'm sorry, but i cannot accept that argument. since when has it been okay to release a buggy product? if i sell an airplane... and that particular 1st generation plane is known to be buggy... how the hell would you feel about riding one and brush the problem off with getting an extended warranty?!?!?!?! Have fun with your flight... and goodbye when you see turbulence. This is honestly a travesty on how we have let electronics company get away with buggy first releases. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are multibillion dollar companies and can/ should afford to do research to find out anything wrong with its system. when you buy something, the product should work, and continue working long after the product is bought and not only for the limited 3 months.

That puzzles me as well....Anyone like to speculate on that?Like it was said before, it's also very weird she hasn't got one already, being a games magazine editor

Maybe she has to live on a budget like we do, no new toys until the holidays. Or maybe she is waiting to see whether the PS3 is all Hype. Everyone has been talking about the PS3 as if they had actually seen and used it. All we really know about it is what Sony wants us to believe. What I know about the cell makes me skeptical. Until someone can benchmark the hardware and see some non CG game code running on the system we are all just guessing. If it were all about the hardware specs Intel would alway be faster than AMD.

I only want to say that these are only high-powered gaming systems. We are not talking about a cure for cancer, we are talking about how to kill an afternoon or boredom. Why do we care who is buying what system? I mean, I think some of the specs out there are awesome and nothing to sneeze at, but is it really something to almost die over and tear another person's head off about? Just wanted to ask that question. I don't mean to offend hardcore gamers/console fans, I just don't get how people tie into this like it is there life. However, given the investment of time and money in doing your research and buying one of these systems, I could understand how you would want to kill someone else for it. I hope that all enjoy their systems, whatever they choose to get!

She'll have a PS3 in the office and most likely can take it home when ever she feels like, plus she'll have free access to game too So what would be the point of taking work home! So getting a 360 would be something different.Don't get fooled an editor of a big mag will most likely be getting the system at home, (maybe not at launch but sometime after). Hell she can even write it off as work related expenses come tax time.

As much respect as I have for her - she isn't going to be at the Official Playstation Magazine much longer...that I can guarantee.
