I thought they sucked balls in the "Van Haggar" days. David Lee Roth was the right guy for the job. Much better vocal range than raspy-ass-voiced Hammy Saggar.
Not a junkie, a cokehead. Big difference. I love that chapter in Dave's book where he talked about him and Ed in the bathroom at the reception after Ed's wedding. He said they were snorting so much blow that they'd each take turns hanging on to the other one to get through the convulsions. Between those two they've snorted up half of South America. It's turned them both into Gollum.
i totally lost interest in vh after they dumped dave and turned to s**t. eddie could easily find a new vocalist since he found a new bass player so easily (/sarcasm), but he finally has come to realize that the only good vh was with diamond dave. the problem is that this is too little too late; they are old, burned out rockers with no inspiration, scrounging for cash...i'm still not interested....and for all you spinal tap fans, no doubt the marquee of their 'tour' will read:puppet showandvan halen (featuring david lee roth)
True, but I'll go to see the show, just for another chance to see King Edward play. Here's hoping he lays off the Smoking Loon a bit during the tour. ;-)
I'd be up for that. I read somewhere that Van Halen could have been the Led Zeppelin of the eighties if David Lee Roth hadn't left. And recently, after looking at some terrible videos of Sammy Hagar era Van Halen and Steve Vai rocking out with David Lee Roth I'd have to agree.

No he wasn't. Sammy is 10x the performer Gary is/was. Stop making s**t up Rex.
