Occasionally I will use them to help pick a movie for me (although not always do I agree) but I have better results with Yahoo movie reviews because it polls everyone, not just one or two reviewers
Well I wasn't watching "The Hill" when I was 10 so this will come in handy when deciding on an older movie. They've had the newer reviews online for some time now.
I am a sikel and ebert hater, I am convinced they get paid to give good reviews. Usually when I see " siskel and ebert give it two thumbs up" I choose something else.
f**kin YES. i find that, although my tastes and judgment of movies are not the same as Ebert, I can gauge what i'll think of a film based on what he says and what type of movie it is. he's consistent and true to how he rates movies. he's the perfect match in movie reviews for me. I dont follow his decision to see it or not, i use it to make my own. After all, isn't that the point of any review?
Ebert is pretty darn accurate. Moreso than most movie reviewers. His star ratings are sometimes scary accurate. His reviews are entertaining as well; he can pick apart a movie and determine the exact moments or feeling or situation that a movie propelled itself into 2-star, 3-star or 4-star territory - and he can also bring the well-written and often laugh-out-loud funny hatred. I usually combine Ebert's review with the overall consensus of Rotten Tomatoes to see if a movie is worth seeing or not.

yes, it's a search-type site divided into movie titles / actors and goes directly to video reviews.

Heh, watch them give Independence Day two thumbs down, and then have to defend themselves the next week (it happened)!
