uberleeto.com — Using the auto adjustment feature of your LCD monitor while viewing a special image can make text look ever better. Few know about this trick. I want to change that. This is a must see for all you lucky LCD owners.

umm. how can you do this on a laptop, the only thing that works is the cleartype thing[and yeah it does look better w/ that]. but what about the auto adjust?

This (seemingly) didn't do anything to my display, and I've had ClearType turned on since I've used XP. My LCD is getting a little rusty, though. I need to invest in a good 1280x1024 DVI LCD. Right now I'm stuck at 10x7. Ugh.

Anybody have a link to why this actually works?

I've got a dual monitor setup and tried it on the non-DVI connection and it actually did something... Before I clicked the button, the desktop appeared to be moving. Something with the sync, refresh rate, and the alternating black & white pixles. After running the auto-correct, it looks perfect! I have the older DELL 18.1" Ultrasharps.

Seemed to help this HP monitor my dad uses somewhat... Worth a try just to see if it helps.
