If, by "better", you mean more biologically diverse and hence healthy and robust with ecosystems not under as much pressure from anthropogenic threats, then yes, I believe I can.

Yeah.. and most of the western people died because of the cancers and obesity (caused by fake crops gene with genetics engineering)... why you judge and just red the news about asia/africa died caused by wars which were involved by your capitalism regimes? Read and state your own backyard, even you never know the recent situation on your country itself...! Stupid solution for capitalism who feels that they are the most freedom....

I actually meant "better" as in a time when human beings (the organisms with which non-misanthropes among us are most concerned) were in a better position to control the environment in which we find ourselves. That's what nature designed us to do, after all. Other animals adapt to their environment. We do the opposite, which is why we have become the dominant species. But for how long, you ask? It all depends on how well we play our ace, the big brain, in our quest to survive the fallout of our own successes.

Well, if I'm lucky enough to be alive in the 2050s I will check that out personally don't worry, the conditions won't change. Nobody wants to vote for a comprehensive climate bill in the US, let alone the rest of the world.

In very plain speech, I'm compelled to ask, what exactly are you claiming Holdren has done? It seems to me to be mere worst-case-scenario speculation. If you speculate being trapped on an island with no food, and you talk about eating the first person to die, it doesn't mean you're advocating cannibalism. It doesn't mean anyone likes the idea of or wants to eat other people. It's merely a consideration of a terrible thing you might have to do given a terrible situation.Basically, you're overreacting. This kind of explosive, knee jerk sensationalism cheapens your opinion, and cheapens legitimate criticism you might have for Mr. Holdren.

Haven't you heard, we don't have 40-50 years. We have 10 to 20 years and even then it may be too late. Think what you will but the scare tactics are out there and you have bought into them.
