cinemablend.com — he new Star Trek movie is amazing- easily the best Trek movie since The Wrath of Khan, and a veritable feast of sight and sound: A captivating adventure that grabs you from the first and doesn't let go. The effects are amazing, finally what the stories have deserved so richly. There are enough huge fireballs, shattering explosions &exciting fights

I love Star Trek, but I'm not a fanatic. I can't name many episodes, or explain the details of any of the books. I've never even seen all the episodes, but there's something special about Gene Roddenberry's universe. Something about people working together amongst multiple races, species, planets, solar systems, etc, to explore the Universe itself. When they focus on the violence or the characters, we do okay, but they had better remember that it's about people working together to better the life of all living things.

...you haven't seen Final Frontier, have you? William Shatner directs. William Shatner plays the starring role. William Shatner kills God. William Shatner. William Shatner. William Shatner.

I've been a Star Trek fan since the 1980s. I even went to a convention as a kid and met Jimmy Doohan. f**k continuity. A reboot is exactly what I want.

It just occurred to me that I think the mini-skirt uniforms were worn by guys too.

what are you talking about, Norman? He said that JJ could 'turn into the next Michael bay' .. JJ's disappointed people many of times. I think Michael Bay sucks, but I'm also not a big fan of JJ myself.but you misunderstood me.

That was a stupid episode of TNG, too. An event grows backwards in time, so far so good. Yet when they go to the future *after* the event happened, it was bigger. If it grows back in time, why was it grown forward in time?I also enjoyed the crew carrying a VT100 Vax terminal across the bridge of the Enterprise. I learned to program Pascal on one of those in high school.

The line must be drawn here! This far and no further! And I will make them PAY for what they've done!

No love for Undiscovered Country? That was always my favorite of TOS movies.

Positives: Great movie with more action and special effects that the Star Trek franchise has always lacked. I enjoyed the closer connection to a real world "atmosphere" shown in the film and before every Trekkie gets uppidy, Star Trek lacks reality and a Sci-Fi movie without a feel of reality and/or a lack of action, just sucks. This movie however makes you feel like your watching a future Earth, thumbs up JJ.Negatives: committed 2 of 3 reasons I don't watch Star Trek. 1. Time Travel 2. Surprise guest characters from older shows3. Somehow or someway the cast is thrown onto 20th century Earth. (thank you JJ for not committing this sin).Best story and movie: Undiscovered Country2nd Best: Wrath of Khan
