Researchers from Glasgow and Paisley Universities say that some employees check their e-mail up to 30 or 40 times an hour, despite reporting that they check it far less often.

apparently a clear inbox is the latest buzzisnt there any good easy preferably open source software out there for organizing the average office workers email for them..it would sell wellor maybe ppl should flag business email when they send so its really easy toknow where to file it at the other end..i dont work in an office so im just guessing

Actually, there are certain situations where it's required - for example in the IT service industry where you have contracts and service level agreements that are based around email notifications. In situations like that, checking email and responding to issues promptly is quite necessary.
