washingtonpost.com — Early in last night's vice-presidential debate, Sarah Palin said that she might not answer the questions as moderator Gwen Ifill posed them. This was the Alaska governor's way of saying she was going to stick to the talking points she had stuffed into her head, no matter what the subject....

I noticed Palin's comment right away, that she was going to give the answers she had prepared, no matter what questions she was asked. Amazing that she told everyone right off that she was going to do that. NPR commentator Ken Rudin: Palin?s debate performance was not even up to the low standard set by Dan Quayle. Biden should have said to Palin on Thursday, "I knew Dan Quayle. I served with Dan Quayle. And you're no Dan Quayle."My biggest complaint is the notion that anyone would take Palin seriously, given the opposing ticket of Obama and Biden. Sarah Palin criticizing Barack Obama and Joe Biden is like my last place Pittsburgh Pirates criticizing the play of the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox--absurd on the face of it!Palindrome: Short for ?Palin Syndrome?, making statements that are as nonsensical read forwards as backwards.

Palin repeated robotic talking points that didn't even make sense much of the time. There was no way she was going to actually answer a question after the Katie Couric interviews.I love how the GOP is trying to spin saying that was "One interview that was done 2 weeks ago! So she had one bad day and it got played out over a week, blah blah." No, the CBS interviews were done over several days last week and this week and Katie was actually with Palin earlier this week on the campaign trail.
