arstechnica.com— EMI will announce on Monday that it will be freeing much of its catalog from the shackles of DRM. Could this be the beginning of the end for DRM'd music?

I think everyone should buy 5-10 songs from EMI on iTunes after the DRM is removed. This will show companies that sales will increase and not decrease and will be a step in the right direction for sure. We've all signed petitions and we've all bitched and complained. We finally have our chance to make a difference here guys, let's do so. I'm glad to see Steve Jobs is walking the walk.
Everyone is stuck on iTunes store. Want Unlimited, FREE, and LEGAL downloads and 192kps, use Ruckus like me. All you need is a .edu address. Comes in an easily rippable .wmv format. Convert it and pop it on your mp3 player or ipod. Jeeze, drooling over non-DRM music that you have to PAY for when there is legal free music!
I think this is great and I really hope it has a domino effect, but EMI doesn't really many big name artists that would help get this really rolling. I looked at the list of artists on their website, and out of the ones I'd heard of, the only band I'd consider buying some music from would be Pink Floyd / David Gilmour, but unfortunately I already own most of their stuff. If EMI has any really good artists that you recommend, let me know and I'll check them out.
No kidding. Am I the only one who finds it less than mildly ironic that they are *charging* $0.30 additional to *remove* something from the music? "...customers will be able to upgrade their already-purchased EMI tracks for 30? if they so choose."This is an upgrade? Come on.
DRM removal is developed to help you convert DRM protected media, like DRM protected music and DRM protected movies and remove the DRM protection to enjoy them freely. This DRM removal can not only remove DRM protection, but also convert all common unprotected formats, including: WMA, WAV, WMV, M4A, M4P, M4V, M4B, 3GP, AVI, ASF, MP4, MOV, FLV, MP3, AC3, OGG, APE, etc. Innovative record-by-play resolution to remove DRM legally from media files, return you full user rights.http://www.drmremoval.biz/

Please support this. It is the first step in having common sense prevail. If the sales of DRM free music rocket then RIAA will have to take note.

I've been a filesharer for years but if EMI does remove DRM I will start paying for their music. Let's make an example of them for other DRM mongersMy website: http://www.onboom.com/ , http://www.download.onboom.com/ , http://www.onboom.com/downloads/ , http://www.duc-anh.com , and more...
