arstechnica.com — Psychic Uri Geller wasn't happy with criticism of his "powers" popping up on YouTube, so he filed a takedown notice. The problem was that he doesn't own the video, and the EFF has now filed a lawsuit against him for DMCA abuse.

Funny, you would have thought that he'd have seen this one coming.

Psychic? Magician? I think that the proper name is "illusionist", because the the artist creates _illusion_ of magic. There is nothing wrong to entertain the audience by performing tricks and such, but to claim to have supernatural powers? But I am open minded, so if Uri produces his Hogwarts diploma, I will believe he is Magician. A Beauxbatons diploma will do as well. Or an Unseen University diploma.

Travelsonic: Go research the topic of 'cold reading'. It'll pretty much tell you everything you need to know about psychics. They're all frauds. Yes, occasionally someone will pick up the art of cold reading without even realising they're doing it, and genuinely believe they have psychic powers, but an unknowing lie isn't any less a lie. Oh, and should you be in any doubt, all of the big names - Sylvia Browne, John Edwards, etc, are ENTIRELY aware of the lies and fraud they indulge in.

phantombantam, the ABC (the network for Chaser's) actually upload the entire episodes themselves. You can download it directly from their website, already encoded for the video iPod/PSP/PMP (.MP4) or just regular WMV. http://www.abc.net.au/tv/chaser/war/vodcast/

Similar thing happened to me - someone filed DMCA against me and my ISP killed my account without even checking the contents. "Innocent until proven guilty" seems to have switched to reverse under the DMCA umbrella.

Super interesting story. We deal with a lot of different psychics on Psychic Chat Online, and there's definitely some intensely shady characters out there!http://www.psychicchatsonline.net
