What's performance like with this distro? From what I understand, the eeePC is able to make due with its low-power system due to its efficient, low-requirement OS and Ubuntu is geared towards computers with more conventional amounts of processing power. Is EEEbuntu optimized for the eee or is this not really an issue?
I have regular Ubuntu + a scriptpack from eeeuser that contains drivers, hotkey stuff etc. running on my 701 (with the 900mhz processor and 512mb of RAM). Under normal use, with Compiz on, it runs fine (except if you want to watch a video, need to turn compiz off). I have on-the-fly clock adjustment on to save battery though, which can make it a bit sluggish if it's been idling. I would say it would run about the same or slower, depends on how much resources the pretty mobile interface uses.
