img211.imageshack.us— A stack of unsold PS3's lies at an EB Games with the hand-written message "IN STOCK NOW!! PLEASE BUY THEM! PLEASE!"

"Its not like the 360s are sold out..."It's not like 10 million 360's have been sold. Oh wait, they have. When you see a newly released playstation console stack next to a year old (already pretty market saturated) xbox 360 stack, and selling at the same rate or slower, thats a BIG problem.
No, the people you should blame are the ones who digg the crap up. Bad stories are written and submitted to other news agencies and sites every day, but digg has the community where such stories are apparently in demand.
I think back to all the bashing the PShills did to the original xbox and the gamecube. They never ever let up, constantly telling everyone how much better the ps2 and it's games were. Remember all that ? Now it seems as though they just cry foul and want everyone to stop bashing their POS3. It's not fair to compare they cry, wait untill next year, next update - the excuses seem to come and go. Ahhh, all is good in the gaming world.
"There's really nothing that suggests this is accurate, as the console is still a total sell-out nationwide."I guess that makes Washington State exempt, as I have seen the Playstation 3 in-stock and available at every retailer in the area except for 2 (a small EB and a small Gamestop).
Exactly... this is retarded. By reading Digg you'd think that PS3s are growing on trees. I have never seen one in stock since launch at any store in metro VA beach.
I'm overwhelmed by the amount of negative press the PS3 is getting. From Digg to NY Times to Time magazine. It's crazy. Even the Xbox 360, with it's overheating problems didn't get slammed this hard! It's like some kind of phenomenon. Everyone loves to see a giant fall. And mark my words, it's not getting up underneath that $600US price tag.
its obvious neither of you were around for the PS2 launch. It was 6 months before most could even get a hand on one. then the same thing has happened to the xbox 360 and now the Wii. However it hasn't happened to the PS3 (which is amazing and very scarey at the same time).its just confirmation that Sony fudged this release up to the point that the consoles are easily buyable just about anywhere and scalping on Ebay failed. it might not be news to you, or you might be in love with sony, but it is news (even though this article / photo are really just pointless fodder).

I was in a Bestbuy on December 23rd, and they had a sign out front saying that they had 82 (yes, 82) 60GB PS3s.
