Most spam solutions can't filter out real people and there are companies in India and other places that have 5-10 people who will go around and fill out sign up forms and place the comment spam for cheap. Why bother finding a way around the filter when you can pay some guy $1/hour to do it?

But it'll give him a couple of weeks of getting NO SPAM.By which time, he can get one of his slaves to change the posting script to do it the correct way, i.e., add some magic bean to both the posting page and the submission script, to ensure each submission comes from a unique visit to his site.For $1Milllllion dollars I could write it for you.
I like spam-karma and bad-behvior. Those two plugins for Wordpress takes care of about 98% of all spam. Setting wordpress for moderation on all comments takes care of the other 2 percent... :))
