macnn.com — Following a week of waiting for Apple to arrange for the pickup of a malfunctioning iMac G5, a Dublin says he has decided to prove that he can walk to Cork -- the location of the nearest Apple repair center -- faster than Apple can arrange for the pickup of his broken Mac.

@McMultiverselol, the obvious bias towards Apple is on the navigation... you have Apple section but no Google or Microsoft or Yahoo...why he get a thumb down is because if you doesn't experience it doesn't mean its good... You don't see it so it don't exist? And he talk in such a general term... He talk like one for all and all for one... While there's definitely alot of report on malfunction Apple product around digg...You are talking about Anti-Apple fan boy get banned and Anti MS should get a pass... OMG... Go check all the MS article in digg, The Anti MS fanboy bashing is even worst than here...Admit it, you all like Apple because of the trendy factor...Sorry: look below...

I would walk to Galway instead. Not because it could or could not be closer to Dublin than Cork is, but at least the service provider in Galway is not as slow as Stream Solutions, the only Apple authorized provider in Cork, is. We took a MacBook Pro to them to be fixed in late May, and we got it back fixed after 10 WEEKS of repair. Never again am I going to use stream solutions even if they are the last service provider in this continent.

Everything else aside, what're the bets he makes it whole way, then gets either a brick in the head or run over by a joyrider as he walks the final mile through Hollyhill? That'd really look bad for Apple! For those who don't know, while the Apple factory in Cork isn't bad, (not an apple employee btw, but a supplier), it's not in the most salubrious of surrounding. Burnt out joyrider cars outside 50 metres from the main reception are not uncommon.ON a related Note, having worked for a supplier to both Apple's factory in Cork and Dell's EMF03 in Limerick, Dell is far ahead when it comes to planning for and building quality.

@lakawakSo, are Apple computers trendy or not? I'm not understanding your pathetic attempt to be profound.Footnote: iPods have been "trendy" since late 2001.
