Halsfield - actually penicillins (any antibiotics) and vaccines are totally backward buisness models for any pharmaceutical company in the race to make big bucks. Through theory of natural selection and horozontal gene transfer, bacteria are able to evolve quickly and gain resitance to any antibiotic, even under multidrug therapies combining different antibiotics. What would be the point in developing a drug (spending millions) if you're only going to get a few years out of it before they're rendered ineffective against the more dangerous strains of bacteria. While vaccines aren't so fruitful, they do have a downside to pharmaceutical companies... Say if Novartis/Pfizer had the option to sell a vaccine for HIV or an effective long term treatment for people suffering from HIV - both of which saves lives... the drug company will be more inclined to invest in the long term treatment - because it's guaranteed revenue for them for years to come. Compare that to having wiped out the disease across the world into insignificance after 10 years or so, where would be the money in that!
If he was eating fresh vegetables and fruits regularly, that's great... but if he was eating cholesterol laden meat or milk and cheese with every meal, as most Americans do, that is not great.
Nitrilocides and Cannabinoids are the cure for cancer ;) And if they arn't, you're still healthy for taking the nutrients of seeds and cannabinoids. Win/win.

So these pills force people to eat well and exercise? Because isn't that the only way to prevent heart disease?
