house.gov — The fiscal year 2008 budget, passed in the House of Representative last week, is a monument to irresponsibility and profligacy. It shows that Congress remains oblivious to the economic troubles facing the nation, and that political expediency trumps all common sense in Washington. (Is Dr. Paul the only one that gets it? Where are the conservatives)

Dr. Paul has demonstrated the most active conservative leadership in Congress. Most of the "neoconservatives" are really pseudoconservatives.

The government increasing spending is not good for the economy. They should decrease spending and taxes. BUT...The economy is just waiting to jump into a recession/depression. Americans hold $735 billion in credit card debt alone. The whole debt is around $2 trillion, NOT including mortgages. This was as of late 2003. It's increasing much faster than it did prior to 2000, also. Wonder what it's at now. I wouldn't be surprised at a $3 trillion figure. If the gov't doesn't increase spending, though, the economy will head into a recession. With everyone in so much debt, they won't be able to cope with the recession and everything will go to hell.If anyone thought 2000 was a bad year, there is a giant lurking.

China holds trillions of our dollars. They are beginning to dump them slowly. The Gulf states hold billions, if not trillions. they too are beginning to rid themselves of dollars.

We're $45billion away from the "permanent" debt ceiling. It just gets more unreal.
