Yeah that is what I do on my computer. I right click and share my wireless card with my wireless 802 and then ad-hoc and people can connect within a decent-sized radius.
@corde5You don't need to be on the same workgroup/domain to do file sharing. Just open explorer and \ip-to-your-computer i.e. \192.168.0.20 if you dont know the ip of a computer (DHCP) you can either check from that computer or open lookatlan <a class="user" href="http://www.lookatlan.com/download_lal.html">http://www.lookatlan.com/download_lal.html</a> it should resolve hostnames to make it easy to see which computer is which. This is what I do when I go lanning anyway, should work fine on your setup.

The phrase "Download of the day" makes my skin crawl because it sounds like users installing way too much unnecessary software on their computers causing calls to me to come and fix it. Look, a peer to peer wireless connection is called Ad Hoc and you don't need any special software to do it.
