what a piece of s**t for a software this is. ahead has got to be kidding, you're trying to compete with k3b, gnome baker, and brasero. before you start bitching about attracting developers to linux world, if you're going to develop software like this, we rather you not make at all, better yet keep it in the windows world.
Well as I may agree nero has a long way to go.K3b is Not! the be all to end all either.I have a highly acclaimed Nec 3551a which is a very popular drive in the cdfreaks forums. And all my windows programs work flawless. But for some strange reason it says it is burning 16x when actual shows 4x and a dvd takes like 16mins to burn,While I love linux OS some of the apps are still like children compared to windows apps.Example to convert .avi to finished DVD format is like a 6-7 step process with half a dozen different programs. In windows I run winavi 4 clicks and so and 90 mins later a finished dvd.Have to run dvdshrink and dvdecrypter in wine to get the power I need like custom compression settings, start and end points, replace intro's,etc...And in the Graphics area is just as sparse apps allways seem immature and lacking features. Can't wait for these apps to mature and grow up like there windows counterparts.
Undoubtedly all the new "WINDOWS -> LINUX" converts will flock to nero :(If their are no good FOSS alternatives, I dont mind comercial "non free" software under linux if they live under "/opt//" like all bad little non free unix software. Why would they want to compete against k3b or gnomebaker which are much better FOSS alternatives?I just hope they haven't "RECYCLED" a free version, badged it as nero and banged a $20 price tag on it?Commercial software RAPING FOSS is becoming all to common these days, particuliarly in custom enterprise software.
Last time I installed Nero, it wanted to install about 10 or so other things that had nothing to do with CD burning. It wanted to install "Nero Showtime" or something, which from what I read was a media sharing program, that shared to other Nero computers. It also wanted to be my video player. I can't remember the other things, but that is the last time I'm installing Nero on anything apart from a virtual-machine, if I get a .cue file or something, because after Nero infects a VM, I can just delete the VM. I used to love Nero, and I had it on all my machines, but now with all this bloat, I'm not letting it anywhere near my house.
For f**ks sake, all i heard when reading that is 'blah blah blah i hate gtk blah blah i hate k3b blah blah f**king s**t software'Get off your ass and submit patches or buy a f**king mac you whiny bastard.

Sweet I am going to test this out, but I have been using Brasero for a few months and I really like that one.
