well it's good for people who want to rent or buy movies in their living-room and are not the types to have a computer under the tv or drag in a laptop connect all the wires
Don't you mean Bandai? The Pippin was much an Apple console as the Dreamcast was a Microsoft console (Dreamcast has the ability to run code for Windows CE).
Here's an Idea. Apple TV comes back.. AS A TV! Think of it as an iMac that you can mount on a wall with an iPhone-meets-Cable TV menu interface. Connect your Cable directly to it and as long as your paying for both your TV and Internet services from your local provider, you'll be able to browse the web and watch TV on a single screen. Equip it with a wireless RF Keyboard, Air Mouse, and Remote.I know tons of people do this already, so it's a proven technology, but Apple could do what they do best and simply the interface so that even the tech novices can grasp the concept and use it effectively.tl;drApple TV comes back as a Screen, not a box.

It doesn't even look that great on my 24" monitor. I also have a projector and a 119" screen and it definitely doesn't look good on it.
