alohaupdate.com — Dog "The Bounty Hunter" Chapman is heading to Mexico after failing to obey the rules. The man who's now famous for chasing down bail jumpers in Waikiki on his A and E TV show forget that only cops in Mexico can break into houses and arrest people.

This is simply the last in a long line of posts that say that "Dog broke the law, and he should pay the price." That is all well and good. However, the crime he committed was "illegal detention." In the U.S. that sort of a crime would come with some minimal penalty and the same MEXICO. "Chapman, who is now free on $300,000 bail, faces up to four years in a Mexican jail if convicted. But his Mexican lawyer, Jorge Huerta, doubts he would get the maximum. Huerta said illegal detention is a relatively minor crime in Mexico, and that if Chapman is convicted, he would likely only have to pay a fine of several hundred dollars."(<a class="user" href="http://www.canada.com/topics/entertainment/story.html?id=d49922dc-3659-40da-863c-59df9054aeb6&k=2884)">http://www.canada.com/topics/entertainment/story.html?id=d49922dc-3659-40da-863c-59df9054aeb6&k=2884)</a>If that is the case, then there are two possible arguments to be made. 1) It is his job, if he didn't know the law, he he should have. 2) He may not have known the law as Mexican law and American law are quite different. And also as, American law can vary from state to state. Finally, for anyone who points out that "He just did it for the money. . ." Of course he did, that's his job. He's a bounty hunter. He hunts people for "bounty" e.g. money. So, that argument is some sort of silliness. If you read other articles more closely, you will see that what he did was not really considered a serious crime in Mexico. If anyone is looking for money (and possibly attention) it is the Mexican government. They would just love to haul Dog down to Mexico, collect several 100k, and send him on his way. And remind him "Don't do your job in Mexico."I do not suggest that Dog is this altruistic super savior being. He makes money off of people. But, that's his job. If you are out on bail, and choose not to show up to a court proceeding, they revoke your bail. It's not all that complicated. EVEN IF he did straight up revoke bail without a reason (which I do not believe he did) it's his right. People give money to him, as COLLATERAL, they do not pay the full amount. So if you owe 100k bail, you pay dog 10k, and he "covers" the other 90k. He can pull that money whenever he wants. Don't like it? Use a different bail bond company. However, Dog will give bonds to people who are multiple felons, have skipped town, have not shown up to court. High risk clients. Consequently, he has to protect his own financial interest. To suggest that he would just pull bail on people is silly, because I am sure there are people who actually need to be back in jail. It's simple. He MAY face extradition. This is appealable. He MAY have committed a crime in Mexico. If so, he will get a trial in Mexico. EVEN IF he is convicted, he will most likely pay a fine and go back home. This is all a lot of inflated non-sense.

What I do not get is why he was extradited. Did he do anything wrong?

He broke the law and now he has to pay the price, he should know that.

First.... what I can't figure out is why the Mexican courts waited so long to do this, they waited until just a month or so before the deadline was up? They asked for extradition of a person who was charged with a misdemeanor, which if what I've read is correct, extradition for anything less than a felony is not applicable under Mexican law.Secondly... why did he have a Mexican officer with him? Thirdly... why is Dog being called a murderer when he did not commit murder, not that his involvement wasn't terrible and he did and should have done time for, but he was there with the guy that pulled the trigger. He shouldn't get a pass on this, he should have to pay the fine that everyone in Mexico has to. Simple enough. There is more at work here than just enforcement of any law. We need to look a little beyond the mullet-ted harsh person that has become a TV personality and look at what is really going on.Hell, make him and the others pay their fines and it would be over. But what exactly is the Mexican government and the American government really doing here? How many women and girls in Mexico do you all figure were raped by the Max Factor heir before Dog and the others jumped him considering what was found in the rapist's apartment in Mexico?

Those of you who are saying Dogg was wrong for taking down this rapist and bringing him back for justice...look at it from another perpective what if was your daughter wife or even you was the one being violated what if you was the next one to be on his list of victims! Till you really know what its like to be a rape victim or know a loved one who has been raped then you have no idea on exactly what dogg did for all of us!! Till then you have no clue!!!!!! Dogg deserves to be free from these charges and needs to be back to work getting creeps off the streets! And i am proud to have him on our side keeping our kids safe!!

If Dog knew the consequences of his actions - which any bounty hunter with half a brain would have - then he would've known that he too would be judged for breaking the law. If he was truly only concerned with bringing a rapist to justice, he could easily have went about it another way, such as notifying authorities as to the whereabouts of the rapist.

A muderder/armed robber/ex con going after a rapist for the reward, and getting busted for it. Too funny. Well Doggie, relax that sphincter...this will only hurt a little. :)
