space.com — Debris disks discovered around two nearby stars look strikingly like the Kuiper Belt in the outer part of our solar system, astronomers said today. Each disk has a sharp outer edge that might be caused by an unseen companion star. Our own Kuiper Belt is thought to have similarly abrupt outer bound.

@ voodoomRTFA, the kuiper belt has similar features with those found on outer belts of binary systems. It's quite possible that we are a binary system. Just because noone has seen the other star yet, doesn't mean it's not there.

Most star sytsems are binary (have two stars orbiting each other). Our sun may also be orbiting / orbited by another star.
